present you , on you very first day, with a large brightly
coloured paper cone. When you explored inside you would
find all the bits and bobs that a child starting school
might need- pencils, crayons, rubber, ruler, drawing books,
paper and probably a handful of less educational goodies
too. Until recently this was one of the more appealing foreign
customs which hadn't crossed the seas to Britain. But now
the National Association for Primary Education (NAPE) has
got together with First Impressions Marketing to bring us
